About the school

A school built for this village, by people from it

Shyam Public School stands on open land at Nagal Rajawatn, in Dausa district — built so that children here would not have to travel to a town for a proper classroom.

Our story

It began with a straightforward problem

Families in and around Nagal Rajawatn wanted the kind of schooling that was only available some distance away — in a building meant for teaching, with teachers who stayed, and classes that ran on time.

The campus was built on open land at the edge of the village, with space left around it for the grounds, the games field and whatever the school needs next. It was never meant to be a temporary arrangement.

What has not changed is the measure we hold ourselves to: a child from this village should be able to sit an examination, an interview or a conversation anywhere in Rajasthan and not feel a step behind.

What we are aiming at

Children who read and write properly in both languages, who are quick and certain with numbers, and who can stand up and say what they think.

Confidence matters here as much as marks. A child who has been listened to in class will speak up outside it.

How we go about it

Teachers who finish the syllabus and then go back over whatever did not land. Written work that is corrected. Parents told the truth early.

And a building kept clean, lit and orderly — because the surroundings are part of the teaching too.

What we hold to

Four habits we expect of ourselves

Written plainly, so that you can hold us to them.

01

Be on time

Classes start when they are meant to. A period lost every day is a month lost in a year.

02

Say it straight

If a child is struggling, the parent hears it from us first — not from a report card in March.

03

Leave nobody out

Quiet children get asked questions too. Slow readers get extra turns, not less attention.

04

Keep the place right

Clean rooms, working fans and lights, a gate that is watched. Dignity starts with the surroundings.
